Toronto Maple Leafs are Firing John Ferguson, Jr. Today

Posted on January 22nd, 2008 in Toronto Maple Leafs by Wicked

TSN is reporting that the Toronto Maple Leafs are going to make a front office change today and it will be John Ferguson, Jr. that will be fired.  Cliff Fletcher is coming back from vacation today and very well could be the likely replacement.  A number of other replacement possibilities were also interviewed, so there is no guarantee who will be taking over for Ferguson.

Reports say that the Maple Leafs have already made the change, but will make a formal announcement at some point today.  When this announcement comes, I expect that it will be Cliff Fletcher taking over as General Manager for the Toronto Maple Leafs.  The Maple Leafs season is far from over, but they need to change things around, and I don’t know that a General Manager change holds all the answers for the Maple Leafs.
